Driving NE, along an incredibly scenery route, approximately at 9:45 am we arrive in Villa La Angostura, 85 km from San Carlos de Bariloche. Cerro Bayo is situated above the little town of Villa La Angostura, a 9km (15 minute) drive away. It was once a little locals’ ski hill, a mom and pop type ski area that largely flew under the radar. Cerro Bayo is still little but it’s slowly becoming more upscale, and it touts itself as providing a boutique ski experience for the entire family. With 13 lifts, including 2 gondolas and 22 pistes (groomed slopes), visitors can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or simply enjoy the remarkable views to the breathtaking Andes into Chile, the amazing forests, and the spectacular azure waters of lake Nahuel Huapi with a comforting hot chocolate. Activities at Cerro Bayo is an incredibly aesthetically pleasing, and combined with the nearby Villa La Angostura, it provides a delightful Argentine mountain holiday experience. At noon, down we go… We drive the 9 km that separates the resort from Villa La Angostura. Even though it’s called a “village”, it has a population of approximately 11,000 inhabitants and is more aptly described as a town although Angostura definitely feels village-like. In a similar vein to Bariloche and other Patagonia towns, Villa la Angostura has beautiful alpine wooden buildings and the requisite chocolate shops and plenty of restaurants and bars. You will also find the perfect shop to pick up some unique Patagonian gifts. At 4:30 pm we return to Bariloche arriving at your hotel approximately two hours later. **Important**: The ski lift up to Cerro Bayo is not included in the price.
